DANUBEPARKS - Danube River Network of Protected Areas - Development and Implementation of Transnational Strategies for the Conservation of Natural Heritage at the Danube River.

 Persina Nature Park Directorate is a partner in the project which is financed by EU funding program ETC - South East Europe /SEE/ and includes significant wetlands along the Danube river from 8 countries - Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania. Lead partner is the Donau-Auen National Park in Austria. The project duration is 3 years up to 2012.

 For the official launch of Danube parks all project partners signed the Declaration of Vienna on June 9th 2009 to set forth the goals of the new network and to avow the objectives of the sustainable collaboration.
