GREEN BORDERS

The directorate of Persina Nature Park was part of tripartite project "Transboundary conservation of the Phalacrocorax pygmeus and Aythya nyroca in Romania and Bulgaria key sites" by program "Life +".
 The leading part of this project is WWF DCP RO - Romania. Partners of the project are 6 more organizations and the directorate of Persina Nature Park. The main financial instrument is European Community. The project duration is 6 years, starting on 01.01.2009 and should end until 30.12.2012.
  In the grant proposal they are written the following activities for the territory of the Persina Nature Park:
  • Preparatory study and design of restoration works for "Kaikysha" marsh;
  • Building visitors infrastructure from wood on the waterside of "Kaikusha" marsh;
  • Building wooden bridge up to the middle of the marsh and two wooden platforms;
  • Building a tower for birds observing in "Kaikysha" Protected Area;
  • Installing warnings signs near the breeding places of the Pygmy Cormorant (Phalacrocorax pygmeus);
  • Marking on the breeding places of The Ferruginous Duck (Aythya nyroca);
  • Constructing a 3D model of the restored wetland;
