The Directorate of Persina Nature Park has started work on the construction of a new platform for nesting of Dalmatian pelicans (Pelecanus crispus) in Peschina marsh on Persin Island.
This autumn 2 of the nesting platforms for Dalmatian pelicans on the island were destroyed due to high winds and floating vegetation. This necessitated the urgent construction of new platforms ready to welcome the pelicans in February with the start of the breeding season for the birds.
The construction of platforms for the Dalmatian pelicans is part of the activities of the project "Pelican way of life".
